Mother's Day - Then & Now

Mother's Day - Then & Now

One of the greatest joys of my life is to have been a mom for some 30 years now!  I found this photo of my daughter Jessica and I (I am the one on the left, ha ha!) and decided to share it with you all:

Roslyn & Jessica at the beginning of a lifelong bond.

What a wonderful, enchanting and endearing experience it has been, and is, to be a mom. To this very day we are still bonded together in this very special mother/daughter connection that allows us to nurture each other, inspire each other, comfort each other and indeed challenge each other to be the best we can be always. We have made time to share together, create new memories.  We travelled to Italy, Spain and Austria in 2016, we went horseback riding in Mississippi and sailing in the Grenadines. Today Jessica and I work together realizing our goals to build a fitness activewear business and share our creations with other mothers and daughters. Without her devotion and guidance, I would probably be wavering along, flitting like an enlightened bird through heaps of fabric and colour and never actually accomplishing too much.

I know Jessica and my two wonderful sons saw a lovely relationship unfold over many years with my own mother, whom we will miss so very much this year…our first Mother’s Day without her…a victim of Covid in a time of too many changes and too many fears.  I am so happy that we all got to enjoy so many good times all together…travelling, and cottage vacations and special holidays are cherished.

Take a moment to think what this upcoming Mother’s Day really means to you.  To all you long time moms, moms-to-be, grandmothers and surrogate moms, I wish you much joy and happiness and hope you feel loved a little more on this Mother’s Day 2021.
